The exciting followup to "Everyone is American" in which we share our national headcanons. Both hehadcanons about a character's heritage and headcanons that no one that's not from your home country gets.
In general I headcanon Amporas as Greek or Italian, but I'm willing to sacrifice that for scottish accented ones. Also kilts.
But like seriously, Dualscar especially will just. Never get rid of this stupid acccent. He's lived in the US for his entire adult life, and though mostly he'll just have enough accent to make people guess he's not native, as soon as he speaks to his sons or someone else who's from the highland, he'll just dive off the deep end into throaty R's and weird vowel sounds to the point where he's pretty much impossible to understand for anyone who's not familiar with the accent.
Cronus does snus. And not like, the southern american kind because what the hell even is that? But like small portion bags of tobacco to stuff under your upper lip. Sweden has been fighting with the EU about this since god knows but essentially it's more disgusting than cigarettes, just not as obnoxious. All his jeans has worn circular patterns in the back pockets b/c that's where he keeps the tin. He's the kind of douche who'll dump used snusbags into his coffee mugs or beer glasses when he's out, which is disgusting. And he wonder why people don't want to mack on him.
I like the Maryams as either Moroccan, or maybe Indian. I'm not really familiar enough with the cultures to want to play that, though. In general I rarely play Marams anymore. Karkat's also nice as Indian. Bollywood cinema? Totally his jam. He and Kanaya will go watch all the big releases.
I'll also say that I really like the Vantases as Sámi. Signless herds reindeers and sews kolts for his boys. Kankri is really involved in Sámi politics and preserving the culture. Karkat isn't quite as involved, but he'll still help Signless out when needed. Again, not something I'm super comfortable actually playing b/c I'm southern swedish and that's just not my heritage. Especially with the current political situation and the fact that I mainly play Kankri of the vantases. And Kankri's a fucking asshole and not a very good activist, and that's just not something I want to use to represent the people who're legitimately working with Sámi politics.
Karkat is Really Passionate about Eurovision. Eridan is hesitantly dragged along.
Also when I play Damara I prefer to just AU it all the way and play her as ~north beforean~ because if I'm going to make fun of anyone's culture I'd rather it be my own. And anyway, the stereotypes people apply to Swedish girls work pretty well with what Hussie seemingly intended to do by making her Japanese.

oooh man! yes, please! i don't really have much to say, but here we go anyway!
i usually headcanon the serkets as south korean. mindfang's a really big business tycoon and her confidence isn't unfounded, because it's not really common for women to be at the top of a business industry. although aranea is the one mostly interested in other countries's cultures and histories, she's also the one least involved in their country's own culture and festivals. vriska dyes her hair blonde often. she just doesn't like her dark roots showing.
i agree with the maryams being indian. these women are strong advocates in the feminism movement. i'm not that familiar with india's cultures and traditions, so i'm not going to go much into detail about them.
and, the nitrams are either mexican or filipino.

I typically headcanon Captors to come from South Korea, though I've seen people headcanon them as Filipino.
Aradia is a big mix of everything and it's very confusing. Damara definitely looks Japanese but Aradia is flat out hard to place anywhere.
Amporas for me are hard to place. Probably Italian but I also fall into the kilt trap too and it's hard not to resist Dualscar being Scottish.
