it really bothers me when people expect Immediate Love and Affection from my character?? especially when our characters start as strangers. idk, do you spontaneously make out with a person you've only known for 12 minutes?? why does no one share my love of relationship development and Excruciating slow burn

Slow burning rps are one of the utmost satisfying rps you can ever have, though I'm guilty of being someone wanting the romance train to take off immediately and not deal with some of the bumps that come from meeting someone new.

astrivid in some cases, i'm in dire need of some love-at-first-sight fluffy relationships (doing soulmate rps for this is So Effective), but i can't deal w/ that all the time. i wanna put my muses through pining hell but no one else is in that boat w/ me :')

Oh,,, no listen. Its gr9 I love death dying and being dead so my characters gotta too. There are no happy endings, just lame hipster romances that were no good in the first place. Where the character walks away feeling rlly not good, too. (if they do at all honestly it depends what kind of rp it was. Usually it doesnt end up in murder though)
But then again,,,,,,,,, Im a hypocrite bc I also get the fuzzies thinkin bout the two characters growing old and maybe getting kids and living a happy, pure life and im a mess.
This is why I love cherubplay bc there are ppl up for either/both and man...

Chairubplay SAME. i love slow burns, not just for angst and pining and stuff, but just like.. little moments where the characters fall in love just a little bit more. moments that are real and true to life instead of the easy, romanticized version of relationships. i live for two people just trying to figure out their relationship with each other?? slow burns are so good ok

I know this feeling so well. I play Nepeta, and for some odd reason, everyone expects her to go all heart eyes the moment their character shows up. ESPECIALLY if it's a Dave or a Karkat. It's got to the point where I almost want to ban those two, because I don't want InstaLove.

Nepeta nepeta is so terribly mischaracterized by the fandom. it breaks my heart, bc she's such an amazing character, but people reduce her to a weepy baby who exists only for romancing karkat.

I'm guilty of writing a lot of insta-love tbh. But it's mostly because of my numerous PDs - I actually tend to fall head over heels for people in approximately 5 minutes IRL. How do I tell my best friend that I have a crush on HIS crush that HE introduced me to?? I don't.

I'm pretty terrible about pacing in romance tbh because if shipping is the main focus of the rp that's usually the main thing that I came for because I just really want my trash to be happy and if shipping is a side note then it never happens because I get caught up in other action and forget that the romance is supposed to be building. R.I.P
