davedudie oh, you know. posts sfw horror prompt about rose summoning eldritch creatures, but what's her cup size, god forbid i forget to give my partner THAT vital information. i had a responder that went into visceral, skin-crawling detail about how disgusting their nasty monster looked, but i respond with rose being a little bit dead and rotten and suddenly it's all 'ohh can she be better actually.' no shut up she'll be necrotic and disgusting if i want, what do you care, it's in sfw, shut up. posts no-game au focused on space alien politics with vriska, but first question every damn connect i get is am i looking to ship. i have an embarrassing amount of pirate vriska prompts, and every damn one of them i have been asked am i looking to ship. fam, a bitch is working her ass off tryna stay friendly with the french crown while also maintaining her scary scofflaw take-no-prisoners reputation, a bitch does not have time for a serious and committed relationship. a bitch doesn't even have time for a one-night stand! she's busy! let her live! contrast this with my two (2) dirk prompts, on which i never ever even once get bullshit bunkass questions like that. there, it's actually about the plot. who'd'a thunk. :')

i used to play jane very frequently and the number of times my partners and i have long, beautiful discussions about jane's smarts and her wit and stuff ooc, then by the time we get to anything vaguely romantic she's reduced to her body parts. the characters could be totally great together, like most of the time it's a dave, and he'll be really attracted to her laughter or her wit, but then like, suddenly it turns into "and she didn't look too bad from the back, either. he always was an ass man." at the end of such gorgeous prose about her worth and value as a human being??? like WHY. i get that she's physically attractive to dave, but why do you have to say it like that, and why is it a 100% necessary component of all of their intimate or romantic interactions!? seriously! every date, every time they made out, every single time anything ever happened to advance their romance, dave had to make some snide end-of-the-paragraph-joke about part of her body, or how she'd look going down on him, etc.

okay i need to bring up another point which has been getting my goat let me just pop in here and make a second post instead of editing my first because this is a problem near and dear to my heart.
why does every monstergirl have to look and act like that male power fantasy hentai-ass game (you know the one) and like have to have anatomy that DOESNT mess up the conventionally attractive human figure or, god forbid, cause the character to not have titties. like even if theyre a reptile that has no reason WHATSOEVER to have mammalian breasts it might as well be a crime against all thats good and proper to actually think through a complicated design with strange biology that actually SEEMS monstrous or nonhuman rather than just another objectified sexy woman with horns/cat ears/tiny animal additions
thats not even to mention the fact that the SECOND you make monsters actually do monstrous things (ie: dragons cooking and eating entire animals, being highly territorial and hostile, etc.), the other person is AGHAST that this powerful creature, one that in the au is FEARED for its ferocity, isnt just willing to jump on peoples bones or even worse force themselves on their character. ive had so many rps that the other person has just disconnected from me the moment ive described my monster character because they werent 'sexy' enough or were too 'inhuman' and tbh im glad i didnt have to waste my good monsters on them but GOD i just need an actual monster rp that revolves around like legitimately trying to study and understand the other species instead of just revisiting some tired smut plotline

ooooooh boy this is a dangerous path and i apologize ahead of time for the route im going but here it goes! gonna try my best to explain though im not sure if it will make sense or if its just me being angry for the sake of being angry so let me know if this makes absolutely no sense but theres that like... monstergirl encyclopedia site that everyone and their brother seems to use for monster prompts and honestly i dont mind the designs that much. i mean sure they have the big anime tiddies and the design certainly intends to emphasize that particular asset, but its not like theyre absolutely terrible. not my cup of tea, since, again, i like monsters being a little more ferocious/scary. BUT the biggest complaint i have with it is that there was a prompt with a link to that and i was interested in playing it because i was starting to like the concept of monstergirls so theres me looking into how i can characterize terezi as a fearsome dragon girl (with a bit of a less sexualized design, in my head) when i read about the actual personalities on this site and JEEZ that made me incredibly uncomfortable. all i remember is that dragons were supposed to be this strong powerful warrior types, BUT this site made sure to go into how they could be tamed and pacified by a strong, capable male mate and that they become some tsundere bs where they basically just become some weird dragon wife who became essentially submissive around a strong male. and THATS why i say 'male power fantasy' because could it be any more obvious? like strong, powerful, fearsome woman tamed by male sexuality alone i immediately closed the prompt and blacklisted everything that linked to that encyclopedia because it just skeeved me out hard and that seems to be like the vast majority of monstergirl-esque prompts |

I started linking the MGE thing for ideas in others and the habit kind of stuck. It's not something I've spent time looking at just because there are SO MANY entries, but that was why I put it there because there were so many to choose from. I normally only looked at the specific entries people linked me and most of them didn't have stuff about being tamed by dudes. Dragons seemed to have the short end of the stick there. Never realized how much it bothered people but now that I think about it linking list probably would lead people to believe I only wanted monsters from that site. orz Honestly when people take my monstergirl prompts it's about 50/50 with people who take monsters from that list and those who have their own ideas, but I've become kind of numb to it unless its one that I see all the time. Some people just don't get creative and they'll take what they can find on the internet . Obviously I'm kinkshaming u right now don't come near me unless your monstergirl looks like this.
