how come the bro rpers don't say anything ooc as a kind of general rule? like, is that just my imagination? like the only bro rper i know who talks ooc is myself, and i'd love to rp with more bro's but
bro as a character already makes me kinda nervous, and then not being able to talk ooc with the rper? kinda digs into that anxiety a little more. i mean ooc conversation is already vitally important to my comfort rping bc if i cant say "hey, your rping is bomb af!" and get a reponse, how the hell am i supposed to feel comfortable saying "okay so i wanna bring in a theme that might be a little bit uncomfortable and i wanna make sure you're okay with that" or "hey how do you feel about a timeskip"
and if i cant say that then i dont feel comfortable taking control of the rp and just Doing the timeskip and if i dont feel like i can take ownership of my own responses fully then
that rp is gonna fuckin end + its terrible but man, the Anxiety

I need OoC so bad. It's like. I wanna know the direction people want to take things? I tend to leave my prompts fairly open ended so we can make it whatever we want. Also I've legit met my best friend via OoC convos in an RP. So like. It don't feel right just to dive in straight away. There's just so much to like, decide on!

If people connect to my prompt and respond with no OOC conversation beforehand, no matter how good the response, I disconnect without fail. I need to get to know my partners when we roleplay, we don't need to be the best of friends, but comfortable OOC interactions lead to comfortable IC interactions, and I much prefer a friendly bad roleplayer to a standoffish writing god.

At first I like to just talk about plot, but once we get into it, I'm good talking ooc. You wanna complain about your bitchy mom? I'll sit here and validate you to death. I like to get to know the person behind the screen.

honestly ive got some Feelings about this and jfc ooc im really really nitpicky when it comes to like? the cleanliness?? of my chat? and i guess that makes some sense but what i mean is like ooc is clutter yes, it makes me feel more comfortable, but id MUCH rather have some sort of side chat or other means of messaging for ooc talk having too much ooc in a chat can make it really hard for me to respond because half the time the only ooc talking i DO is with people that say three words and answer like one of three questions youve asked previously and you have to fucking push to get the rest out of them so it just ends up killing the mood/inspo if theres too much tl;dr i hate it but need it but dont want it in the main rp chat
