Alright so one peeve I have is when I put anything in my blacklist, I know I might be alienating prompts I'll want! People often list things they don't want in their prompts: genderbends, ocs, certain kinks, etc. So when I blacklist those things, I also end up blacklisting prompts who don't want that either. Also y'all wanna share your blacklists? I'm always curious to see what people put in theirs. It needs revising, and don't get me wrong I love Steven Universe, Undertale, Fallout, Adventure Time, and so on! I'm just not interested in rping it. Also if you're using to use the not homestuck tag (thank you to those who do) why can't y'all stick to one? It seems like every week I have to add a new one. Not really salty or rant-y. Just me getting peeved.

tbh i've been advocating for everyone to transition into a hashtag format for months. it's just so much more effective for this exact reason. i'm very lucky not to be triggered by much, so i actually only have a few things on my blacklist permanently, but i've taken to just finding the most unique word in a prompt (or NAP in my case) and just using that instead of trying to keep up with triggers and whatnot. it really sucks!!!
at first the thought occurred to me that like, not everyone on cherubplay checks or even has a tumblr to check the cherubplay tag with, so my advocacy for the "hashtag movement" would be largely missed even if others would participate. but honestly, someone started that trend of like, putting your main search at the top and then hitting 'enter' six or seven times so that the ooc chatter or actual prompt isn't seen until you click the box. that caught on real quick and lots of people in NAP have taken to it. so there's hope, that if enough people start using hashtags to actually preface what they are advertising (for example, #genderbend) it will catch on and this'll be easier to deal with in the future.

See, I don't know why people don't just use hashtags! That'd solve a lot of issues here. Then there's also just putting triggers/warnings and the characters you're looking for/playing on the top of your post. People can look at your prompt at a glance and see what to expect and who you're looking for and who you're playing- then if they're interested they can look at the rest of your prompt.
I cannot tell you how annoyed I get when I open a nice looking prompt and not only do they not mention some things worth tagging (I.e drug abuse, noncon, etc) they also have a huge prompt to only say 'Jakes only!' or something like that at the end. So thanks, I had to trudge through your prompt to only be told 'I'm only looking for this one person!' and be disappointed.
That was off topic but it really cheeses my onions.

That reason is why I toss my OoC at the top with my trigger warning generally being the last line of the OoC or so. I should probs do Hashtags now that I think about it. That'd make it easier for people to avoid. Though I also tend to TW for anything that /may/ happen in a prompt. Like #Underage Drinking for my Prohibition Era prompt, even if that wasn't even a thing back in the day. I'd rather not risk someone getting triggered in the middle of RP.
