Sigh
Okay, so you know those rps you get really pumped for? The ones where yourself and your partner mesh pretty well, where your ideas are good ones, but then when they reply they just don't deliver up to the expectation you had thought of them?
I'm faced with one now.
See, there was the warning signs at first that I ignored- after a while, my partner stopped putting in ideas or world building, and their OOC messages got shorter. They suddenly seemed to have their creativity shut off
Then, we talked length. They told me that they wrote 5-6 paras per reply, 6-12 lines each, and that their starters were longer. I was a little intimidated, because it just seemed so long, but I agreed anyway and wrote 1423 words for the starter, one in which I am very proud of. I thought it captured Karkat's essence pretty well in voice, and still left a lot of red flags and hints to explore later. It took me two hours to write
Then they replied with a little over 600 words. And I usually am not a stickler for length, so long as the overall quality of the writing is good, but they just. Their Jade was so off. They have the entire backstory in the reply and left no room for speculation or interest in it, and the writing style just got on my nerves.
I honestly hate when this happens- whenever you have such high hopes for an rp and then it just. Flops. You can't even be angry- you just have to suffer through with stern fatherly disappointment written on your face as you end the chat.
So what are some of your biggest rp disappointments? What are some rps you had such high hopes for and then they just, flopped completely?

OH BOY OH BOY OH BOY, THIS SHOULD BE THE TITLE OF MY MEMOIR. Just take a look at this bad boy. This isn't even a taste of the kind of nonsense I get on the regular.

aw man, i feel you! i have literally never had a good jade, unfortunately ):
the ones i've got right now are okay on length (all i need is something to respond to and generally they give that), but they seem to be playing Generic Girl Stereotype and every other response is riddled with typos

Ooooh man. All the time. All the underwhelming Karkat's and Dave's belong to me. I swear. Sometimes I get people who are like A+ Gods OF Awesome. But half the time? My long ass prompts are replied to with a few sentences.
