Okay "bad" responders is a bit of a stretch. I'm having troubles thinking in English rn bc I'm stressed af, who the hell cares. ANYWAY. What do ya'll do when you post a nap, like a really obscure one, and you doubt anyone will even answer. But someone does!! So you get excited. Only to be disappointed because the responder barely participate in the conversation. So you have to come up with ideas yourself. And you're dreading the moment the rp itself will start because you doubt this will meet your expectations. Inb4 "just fucking d/c you fat nasty trash", what if no one else ever responds to the nap huh??? What if?

My advice does basically boil down to "just disconnect" but I'll try and frame it in a better way, so let's give this a try.
Obscure prompts/NAPs are always the worst, because you're constantly left hanging and you may let your overwhelming thirst for the thing in question lower your standards. Sometimes this is fine, as roleplays over lower quality can be a good form of stress relief since you don't need to be expected to perform at your best, but a lot of the time, it's just disappointing.
If the quality of your responder is impacting your ability to have fun, then it's not a roleplay that will go anywhere in any case. If they weren't that great but their other qualities make up for that fact and enable you to have a good time regardless, that's when it's worth hanging on to, but if you're not then it's time to let go.
I can't guarantee that anybody will respond in the future, unfortunately. I'd like to, but if it's something so obscure, there's no real way of knowing. The only advice I can offer is keeping this roleplay only up until you're no longer having fun, and trying your luck elsewhere in the meantime. Maybe you'll get lucky! But a roleplay isn't worth holding onto if you're not into it, you know?

just d/c you fat nasty trash. i don't hang out in NAP but i have probably close to 20 Fucking Long Prompts (all about 1k or over) and i get bad responders ALL THE TIME. d/c. repost. d/c. repost. feel brief, fleeting hope. be met with crushing disappointment. d/c. repost. hit your friends who you are 100% sure can write up. offer a bribe. problem solved. this is how i ended up with something like 8 chats with Chairubplay . you win some, you lose some. OR you can pull what i call a classic hanka move and run with the terrible idea and the terrible writing until you have enough of your OWN fodder to slap together into a coherent thing, and then post that as a prompt. EDIT: fucking ninjad by chair himself

Chair, your furnituresque (Wow. WOW. I absolutely adore this word. Someone call Oxford, we gotta add it to the dictionnary) wisdom brings me to tears. I have to admit that my nap isn't even the most obscure thing I've ever posted on this blasted website. But the Existential Dreadâ„¢ is strong in this one (this is me talking about me). But I still have to admit that from the moment this person replied to my prompt this has been the most bored I've been in days and tbh, what's the point. What's the point? What's the point. What's the- I'm just going to d/c. And hanka . You're giving me the motivation to repost a nap that I thought was hopeless. So for this, thank u.

same tbh i mean it kind of goes without saying that i know this feeling just from my name alone
Honestly, though, stick with it until IC starts, unless they're really providing nothing. And if that IS the case, try asking them to be a bit more involved. You'd be surprised what a gentle nudge of encouragement can do for a person's writing!

usually, what i do, is i suffer. i play along, i end up doing most of the work and carrying stuff because like, barely anyone likes this/knows about it, im not going to get a connection, i just have to deal with it.
but alongside suffering, i do keep reposting the nap and stuff. because while yes, obscure things are obscure, you gotta keep hoping that one day, you'll wake up and someone great will be there, and you will have the best time of your life.
hang in there buddy.

Usually when people connect to my NAP's and suck, I just wait patiently for the proper chance to strike. And write a nice message saying "have fun on deviantart with the other infants, bye" and disconnect because usually my NAP's sound like I'm trying to sell rugs at a bazaar or something "GEMS, GET YOUR GEMS! FRESH HOT OUT OF THE WRITING OVEN!"
