I'm going to walk down a dangerous road with this thread, so I'll be extra careful with my wording.
This is about f*tas. Yeah. I, just. Despise this trend so much?
I might be wrong here - but most of the times, f*ta girls could as well be changed in favor of being trans girls. That rubs me the wrong way.
Not to mention that every. Single. F*ta prompt - that I, myself, associate with trans women, since I just don't *understand* the idea, the appeal behind f*tas - are fetishizing. I haven't seen any prompts about f*ta girls that wasn't just "worship her cock and balls lmao look at her, she's so special, for having a penis, she can't be treated like any other woman".
I hate this!
That, and also, I find it so hypocritical that people don't care about the use of the word "f*ta", but would probably lose their shit (I know I would!) if someone referred to a trans boy as a c*ntboy. Now before anyone jumps at my throat, because I've seen it happen - if you want to reclaim the word for yourself, you are free to! But never. NEVER. Use it for someone else. NEVER use it for me. I'm a trans boy. I'm a boy. I'm not defined by my genitals. If you ever try to pull that on me I will find your address and will go out of my way send you a box of glittered bees.
EDIT: And I'm perfectly aware that an angry thread on this forum won't change anything to this trend! This is just me, a trans person, a person affected by this, voicing my own opinion.

I couldn't agree more with what was said here. I've blocked those two words on cherub completely and if I ever see a hint of such things one someones tumblr or social media I'll leave immediately.
Then there's people who use trans headcanons in place of F*tas and C*ntboys and it's just as bad, because all they want is to sexualize trans people. We're not fetishes, or people to experiment with, or to make you question your sexuality, or some taboo. We're living breathing people that are made for more than sex. (Plus this is completely unfair to asexual people oh my god) Y'all call us the perverted ones when all you want is to question what's in our pants.
Getting a little ramble-y but I can't stand these kind of prompts. It mainly started in the hentai community too, which is just a cesspool of grossness.
Then there's the romanticism of the trans community. Cis people making trans characters as angst bait- using the cliche narrative that we all hate our bodies and only love ourselves though drastic measures. That we can never love ourselves until we get some magical surgery or pill. While this is the case for some trans people it diminishes so many other narratives and excludes trans people who are not male or female; instead caught in the middle or omitting gender at all!
I wasn't going to respond to this because talking about this kind of thing is treading a very fine line, but I think it's a conversation worth having. Also sorry for going a little off topic with this.

TBH I agree with everything here. I play trans characters primarily, I'm so used to dealing with bullshit, it's honestly so sickening to come on and see that I'm going to have to try and figure out how to do it when most people will see the word 'trans' and automatically assume it's a part of the fetishistic mass. I'm so fucking tired of having the fact of my gender be so grossly considered by cis people.
That's not even touching on the condescending douchebag who told me that my trans headcanon was "cute but not the aesthetic [they] wanted" urgh I felt like I had to wash my keyboard after that. It's not a fucking aesthetic what the shit.

I don't even like to rp my trans headcanons because people will either d/c on me because they: 1. Don't like trans people or don't understand it 2. Think I'm a dirty cis™ trying to romanticize/sexualize it (can't blame them tbqh, but buddy I'm not please give me a chance) 3. They're some anti-sjw (it hurts to type that) that hates any semblance of diversity 4. Think that none of the characters in Homestuck can be trans (ALL YOUR FAVS ARE TRANS NOW SURPRISE) 5. Or are trans too and rping like that makes them uncomfortable (totally cool) 6. ALSO people who think 'oh your trans great here comes the angst'
and I'm so sick of trying to prove why my character would be trans and justifying it.
Fuck that 'aesthetic' bs. People aren't here to fit your aesthetic, which is such a bastardized word now that it's lost it's meaning.
I don't know where I'm going here. I'm just so blown away by how the rp community portrays trans people and I feel so bad for the younglings just wanting to rp characters like them and being tossed into a sea of disgusting bs.

Yeah I'm honestly so fucking glad I didn't get into cherubplay until well after I was secure in my identity, and I feel so fucking bad for every trans kid using the site. And god, having to justify playing your character as trans? I hate that I actually understand why people want me to do it, it leaves such a bad goddamn taste in my mouth, like, I am trans, I can't just ditch that part of me whenever I feel like it and I hate doing it in roleplay because it feels so much like giving in.

As a youngling trans prsn myself i am terrified of rping (or really making tbh) trans characters bc I'm afraid i'll get reprimanded by someone who's apparently the collective conscious of every trans person ever and knows how each person feels about every topic and obviously im not actually trans im just a lying cis dude trying to mar the trans identity. There's also the people who go and do that whole gross fetish thing?? Why?? People shouldnt just be tools to get ur rocks off my dude, especially those of the oppressed variety.
Let us live our damn lives please
And then there are words like fe*boy and other bs that totally crap on non-binary people so that sucks.
Sorry for butting in and junk, I just feel strongly about this topic ha...

Astro Butt in every damn day if you please. We need more people talking about this kind of thing. I've been there when it comes to getting 'called out' by the tans gatekeeper™. Seriously screw the pompous people who will themselves to speak out for every trans person in existence. Bonus points if they're a cis ally forcing themselves onto a pedestal literally no one wants them on except for other circle jerking 'allys'. An ally is someone who helps trans people get the platforms they need to speak out. Allys shouldn't speak out on behalf of anyone, they should use their privilege to get others a chance to speak their truth and to call out injustice in the system they've made.

It's hardly a new trend, it's been around for as long as internet porn has been, essentially. I don't know, I don't personally enjoy them and I am kind of "eh" about how the prompts tend to be written, and I definitely see why you'd find them personally upsetting as a trans person. But I guess I just moved past it? It's just a kink thing, really, and it has very little to do with trans women aside from being women with penises. Like, one of the main appeals is that it's all ~natural~. Natural huge dick, naturally huge tits, natural vajayjay. I mean imagine if the collective troll headcanon had taken a diffferent route where they're still all hermaphroditic but with more humanoid genitalia as opposed to the tentabulge.
In that case I'd rather people who play these kinds of characters stick to the porn terminology, as opposed to trying to pass them off as ~trans~ because it's just so transparent.
I'd also argue that c*ntboys is a different thing, because those characters ARE actually intended to be read as trans guys.
Again, I definitely see why people really, really can't stand them. I guess I just moved past it.
(Compare to most "male character looking for a hyper busty harem of women to please him!" type prompts; in and of itself there's not really anything wrong with being into that, but with the context of the society we live in it gets kinda skeevy.)

Of course it's not a new thing, people have been fetishised for years long before even the internet was a thing. The thing is, it's not something some of us can move past, and it's not something we should be expected to move past. Sexism, racism, transphobia and homophobia are all things that are extremely fucking prevalent in mainstream porn, and they've been using our terms in the guise of "positivity" for a long time, and it fucking hurts.
If you've seen "c*ntboy" used differently, then sure, but every single time I read one the characters are so fucking feminised it makes me feel ill, it doesn't distract from the fact that "c*nt" is a hell of a word (regardless of how many times I've had to explain to drunk tourists that being called a "sick c*nt" is considered a compliment in certain circles of our country), and it all boils down to trans people being infantilised and reduced to their genitals because "haha it's a man with a vagina isn't that weird!"
And the worst part? We can't bring it up in the tag unless we want to start pages upon pages of discourse and everyone giving their two cents on whats transphobic or not (and the number of cis people who feel the need to make it their conversation is profoundly uncomfortable), and of course there's always one fuckhead who insists that "futa comes from a different place it's not transphobic at all and if you think it's transphobic then YOU'RE ACTUALLY TRANSPHOBIC, CHECKMATE ATHEISTS!"
Cherubplay, and the tag on tumblr are incredibly hostile places to exist while trans and it fucking sucks.

"futa comes from a different place it's not transphobic at all and if you think it's transphobic then YOU'RE ACTUALLY TRANSPHOBIC, CHECKMATE ATHEISTS!" Oh my god THE NUMBER OF TIME I've been told that when I mentioned how uncomfortable it makes me!!! Ew I'm. Actually sort of tempted, after reading all of your replies, to make a prompt inspired by the "Down With Cis" post, with the bus and all, and see how many people flip their shit. Then grab my trans flag, wave it in their face, and yell "SEE!!!! SEE HOW IT FEELS!!!!!!" I won't do it. But I'm tempted.
